In a YG survival competition, WIN (Who is next) in 2013 , they are called as Team A.They compete with Team B and won the match .They officially debuted as WINNER on inkigayo on 17 August 2014.Winner immediately achieved monster rookie status achieving record breaking milestones such as being the fastest male group to win on a music show, specifically winning on their debut stage.They won their first major awards, a Bonsang and Daesang award respectively for earning a place in the "Top 10 Artists" and "Best New Artist" categories in Melon Music Awards 2014.Overall, Winner has won six music program awards and three awards from eight nominations.Their official fanclub is INNER CIRCLE, as for short form ,WINNER call them as InCle♥

Winner's KangSeungYoon was  a former superstar K2 contestant who reached the final four and he decided to sign with YG in 2011 while Winner's LeeSeungHoon was a contestant in K-POP Star Season 1 where he came in fourth place.On May 16,YG Entertainment announced they had signed an exclusive contract with Seunghoon.Winner's SongMinHo started out as an underground rapper under the name "Mino" or  "HugeboyMino" with other underground rappers-turned-idols included Block B's leader ,Zico , Park Kyung, P.O and SPEED's TaeWoon.He made his debut as a rapper with the ballad group,BoM however the group is disbanded 2 years later due to lack of popularity.MinHo was then recruited into YG Ent through a private audition in 2013.Winner's KimJinWoo and NamTaeHyun were recruited in 2011 through a private audition and performed as backup dancers for YG Family Concert 2011.
